Points

One group from Saturday's assemblies also highlighted the point about the importance of education, about what it is for and for whom

One group from Sunday's assembly also put for the importance of education, the freedom to teach the curriculum, the development of the curriculum and access to all ages

One group from Sunday, advocated to take the funding that is given to private education and share it equally into state education and home schooling

Bonnie Greer “I would change the education system. I think we need education for all, equal education, where everyone in society has the same chance, the same playing field. And of course if we have equal education, then the teaching profession itself becomes an honourable thing to do, it also pays people decent wages, teachers become valuable people. I would also get rid of specialisation, so grammar schools, public / private schools ..."

June Sarpong said at the festival “If there was going to be a new constitution, I think I would like to see diversity and equality at the forefront of the agenda. We should make sure that diverse communities are always educated together from the outset. I would abolish education based on income, geography or based on gender or religion. I would have have everyone educated together.”

Education is a basic human right, I think that everyone should be able to access the same education and that we should look to other countries to find the best way to educate our children. Lets be open to new ideas about education.
