Subsidiarity for the world

Subsidiarity for the world

Subsidiarity is a principle of social organization that holds that social and political issues should be dealt with at the most immediate level that is consistent with their resolution. The aim of this group is to discuss how we could design such a governing or organising structure from scratch. The most immediate problem would be how to curb the power of the biggest corporations operating on a global level (potentially even in our outerspace) thru universally binding legislation.

Points

It is my conviction that we need an international constitution to bind the lawless pursuit of money and power by a small group of well equipped people, especially in those area's where resources are still in abundance and society is vulnerable to predatory behaviour.

International legislation also requires international law-enforcement. These law enforcers would preferably also be under the control of the most immediate level of government. Sometimes however this would not be a sufficient safeguard against abuse. How this would be done is a matter of first concern in the design of every law.
